TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. RHEMA FUNERALS undertakes to furnish the following services provided the client complies with the requirements set out in paragraph 2 onwards.
1.1 To collect fixed monthly premiums (as provided in the schedule) from each client, which monthly premiums will be made up of an administration and a collection fee and an amount to be paid into a funeral policy with an insurance company of RHEMA FUNERALS’ choice.
1.2 Upon the occurrence of death of a client (as defined in paragraph 1.7 and 1.8 below) or his/her dependant/s. RHEMA FUNERALS undertakes to arrange for a full burial within a radius of 30 km. The cost whereof will be borne by RHEMA FUNERALS from the proceeds of the policy.
1.3 RHEMA FUNERALS will not be responsible for the burial costs of any client or his/her dependant/s whose death occurs before the (6) sixth calendar month, or is responsible for his/her own death. (12) Twelve months waiting period will apply for HIV/AIDS and (24) twenty four months waiting period for committing suicide.
EXCEPTIONS
1.4 All funerals will take place from and including Mondays to Fridays. In the event that the client indicates that the funeral is to be held on a Saturday or Sunday, then this may be arranged subject to advance payment by the client to RHEMA FUNERALS of the difference in funeral/cremation costs.
1.5 In the event that the client or his/her dependant/s become deceased in a town other than that in which he/she is ordinarily resident and which is within 100km thereof, RHEMA FUNERALS undertake to transport the mortal remains to the town where the deceased was ordinarily resident free of charge. A charge will be levied in all cases where the distance exceeds 100km.
1.6 The cover that is provided in the policy to be obtained by RHEMA FUNERALS will include dependent/s spouses and unmarried children up to the age of 18 years.
1.7 Extended cover in respect of dependants over the age of 18 years and who are still at school, may be applied for provided proof of scholarship is provided. All such extensions remain in the discretion of the insurance company providing the insurance.
1.8 Children physically or mentally disabled that permanently depend on their parents who don’t receive any allowance will be covered as long as the parents are members.
1.9 Cover will be obtained by RHEMA FUNERALS in respect of foster children on the provision of a social worker’s report substantiating the foster relationship and will be subject to the usual waiting period.
2. THE CLIENT UNDERTAKES TO PERFORM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
2.1 Upon signature hereof the client will pay a registration fee to RHEMA FUNERALS.
2.2 Monthly premiums are to be paid by the (7) seventh working day of each calendar month.
2.3 In the event of non-payment of any premiums as set out in 2.2 the agreement shall immediately become null and void. (This is not a savings scheme.)
2.4 Premiums are payable lifelong.
2.5 Members re-applying after cover has ceased will be subject to the same waiting period and entry fee as for new members.
2.6 In the event that a consultant of RHEMA FUNERALS fails to collect the monthly premium when it becomes due, then the client undertakes to ensure that it is paid into RHEMA FUNERALS’ offices at the address provided from time to time.
2.7 The insurer has the right to adjust the premium if necessary.
3. GENERAL
3.1 RHEMA FUNERALS reserves the right to refuse to register/accept any person as a client, without being obliged to offer any explanation therefore.
3.2 No promise made by a canvassing consultant is binding on the company.
